Dr. Dongmo

Dr. Dongmo is a Partner and the Chief Information and Innovation Officer of Aufis Consulting. He graduated in Reims, France at the National Institute of Health and Research (INSERM) and obtain his doctorate degree there in 1996. Dr. Dongmo has a unique combination of internationally recognized expertise in medical and biomedical fields, scientific research and digital technologies, and human development. His main focus is to provide cutting edge solutions to streamline the health care delivery in Africa at low cost.

Dr. Dongmo is a is an intellectually versatile person and a well-known Biomedical and life sciences expert who have provided world class solutions and worked for leading Healthcare, Research, Pharmaceutical, Hospital and Government facilities to improve the quality of care for the past 20 years including:

As the Chief  Information and Innovation Officer of Aufis, Dr. Dongmo’s vision is to accelerate the transformation of Africa by taking advantage of the digital revolution by appropriately using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and mobile solutions (smart phones app and touch tablets) as a vector of a sustainable and community driven development. He also believes that technology and knowledge transfers are essential to Africa renaissance.

He possesses hands-on expertise and knowledge of clinical genomics for personalized cancer and rare disease diagnostics and therapy, bioinformatics, next generation sequencing, preclinical and clinical trials, FDA regulations, large country-wide clinical database and healthcare information system, Telemedecine, Teleeducation, Public Health and Epidemiology analytics, Electronic Medical Record.

Dr. Dongmo’s contribution to the progress of science is enormous. Early in his career, as one of the pioneers of nanotechnology he has been instrumental to the advanced of nanomedicine and he invented a procedure called Blind Restoration to simulate the rendering of digital images generated by Nanomicroscopes.

 

Throughout his career, he supported several NIH funded research protocols funded by the US National Institute of Health (NHI) the areas of chronic diseases, cancer, diabetes, malaria, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease etc…

 

He is also an expert in helping government to plan and deploy Universal Health Coverage (UHC) scheme a mechanism by which all people and communities in a country can use the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services they need, of sufficient quality to be effective, while also ensuring that the use of these services does not expose the user to financial hardship. He has developed a system called Elixir, a cost effective smart card based biometrics national health information system aimed to manage all aspects of Universal health care coverage in African countries including the functions of insurance affiliation, beneficiary registration, verification and security of beneficiaries and level of benefits, payment of insurance premiums, treatment and payment of claims, control and audit of medical services, accounting, integrated telemedicine module, statistical analysis and business intelligence

 

He is a philanthropist and he held multiple leadership roles in several non-profit organizations working to alleviate poverty in Africa and to improve the quality of life of the population through the planning and the implementing of sustainable and community driven education and health projects. He is currently the Chairman of the Patcha Foundation Inc. (www.patchafoundation.org) a US based non-profit organization organizing humanitarian medical missions in Africa and using a telehealth network to connect medical professional all around the world to provide healthcare diagnostics to populations located in remote villages.

As a Professor, Dr. Dongmo has taught in France schools and America universities and has authored, co-authored and published several scientific papers.

Along with Dr. Ernest Simo a friend and business partner, he prototyped a platform that was later used to launch the pan-African television Vox Africa.

Finally, in his spare time he enjoys playing music.
